Sidenor receives an award for the consolidation of its Basauri works as a Smart Plant applying sensors, new traceability systems and mass data analytics
Iñigo legua, the CIO of Sidenor, has received an ASLAN award as “CIO of the year” for his professional career and contribution to the digital transformation of companies. Throughout 2017, he developed, together with Tecnalia and Dominion, a computing cluster which is mainly focused on developing data analytics projects, with the purpose of standardising projects, predicting the behaviour of defective elements and optimizing energy costs.
All this has been carried out within the framework of the strategic project Sidenor Smart Factory (HAZITEK 2017), which mainly aims at strengthening Basauri works into a smart plant applying sensorics, new traceability systems and mass data analytics.
This award is, undoubtedly, a recognition of Sidenor’s bet on Industry 4.0 and the digitalisation of its processes. The CIO awards to “managers who foster digital transformation” mainly aim at giving public recognition to the “professional career” of IT officers in small and big companies in Spain, who encourage the development of digital infrastructures in order to support the business applications and processes of their companies.
