Each year, we manage close to 900,000 tonnes of industrial waste and obsolete materials that are no longer useful to society, such as household appliances or cars. At our centers, we reuse this raw material and transform it into new, top-quality steel products.
The steel production process at SIDENOR is carried out by means of an electric arc furnace (EAF), using recycled scrap as raw material.
Scrap recycling offers a new lease of life to this waste by avoiding landfilling. Compared to the blast furnace (BF) steelmaking process from iron ore, it substantially reduces water use, energy consumption, and, consequently, CO₂ emissions.
