Sidenor’s CFO, Maite Etxarri, has received the recognition for Best Financial Management of the Year at the 1st Edition of the Elkargi Sariak Awards, in the Large Company category.
This award highlights the importance of financial management working in close collaboration with general management. The event brought together more than 200 representatives from companies across the different territories, as well as authorities and institutions.
Maite Etxarri, who received the award from Lander Arteche, President of Elkargi, emphasised in her speech that “financial management, especially in industrial companies, is fascinating and highly varied. Financial discipline and planning are key to understanding and improving the current situation of the business and to supporting the decisions that secure its future.” She added: “We secure the financial resources to bring the strategic plan to life and we turn big ideas into concrete actions and results, contributing a ‘financial perspective’ that hopefully permeates the entire organisation. It is an honour to receive this recognition and to share it with all my colleagues at Sidenor and with my family.”
The jury assessed Etxarri’s work against criteria including financial management; corporate strategy and a long-term vision of sustainable growth; financial innovation and digitalisation; and the integration of ESG criteria into economic and financial management.
