To this end, we identify opportunities throughout the entire production process, develop innovative products, and seek new markets with the help of our R&D+i department and in collaboration with users, universities, and technology centers.
In steel production, water is a fundamental resource used as a cooling agent for both production equipment and the product.
Separating direct (dirty) cooling water circuits from indirect (clean) cooling water circuits.
Optimization of water purification systems. These are implemented to avoid contaminating the receiving environment and to allow for internal reuse.
Closing circuits so that we can reuse most of the water. Currently, some of our factories achieve reuse rates above 95%.

To this end, each year, each industrial area, in collaboration with the Environment and Energy Department, identifies opportunities for improvement, that are then used to develop the Energy Efficiency Plan.
