80 Sustainability Report 2022 | People and talent Absenteeism rate Sidenor uses the most prudent version of this concept, considering each absence from work as absenteeism, including absences resulting from occupational or non- occupational accidents, long- term sick leaves or maternity or paternity leaves, except holidays. In 2022, a year which was further impacted by COVID-19 in all our facilities, the absenteeism rate reached 10.5%, with a global computation of 322,707 hours (including 18,700 hours corresponding to paternity and maternity leaves). In 2021, a year which was completely impacted by COVID-19, this figure amounted to 9.8%, with a global computation of 297,387 hours (including 16,279 hours corresponding to paternity and maternity leaves). Sidenor employs nine people who present some form of disability (the same number as in 2021) and, as a demonstration of our commitment to diversified employment, we work together with special employment centers in order to promote social integration policies. In 2019, this commitment was officially recognized, as we were awarded the certificate of compliance with Royal Decree 364/2005 of April 8th. Such certification was renewed in December 2022 for 3 years. Among these special employment centers are the Fundación Lantegi Batuak, Taller Usoa Lantegia, Soemca Empleo S.L, Alares Social, S.A and Ilunión Bigaderies de Catalunya. Number of dismissals Three dismissals on disciplinary grounds occurred during 2022, while two were registered in 2021.
