64 Sustainability Report 2022 | Environmental sustainability Waste At Sidenor, we have implemented a circular economy model based on practices for the responsible management of our waste which aim at their segregation, reuse, recycling and recovery. Thanks to this model, we have been able to valorize a large part of our waste: white slag in cement production processes; steel mill dust in the zinc recovery industry; and mill scale in sintering plants for blast furnace iron and steel processes. The total waste recovered amounted to 160,330 tons (142,660 tons in 2021).
