60 Sustainability Report 2022 | Environmental sustainability Product environmental footprint Our philosophy of work includes various stakeholders and the entire chain of value. To this end, Sidenor became, in 2019, the first Company in the State to have its own certified system to calculate the environmental footprint of its products. In 2021, we extended the calculation scope to all plants of Sidenor, which enabled us to assess the environmental impact of over 800 types of steel and 35,000 product references. The Carbon Footprint Calculator is based on the requirements of ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards and is certified according to ISO 14025 and ISO 14067 standards. This evaluation system considers five environmental impact categories, among which carbon footprint, as well as 12 indicators on resource consumption and waste generation.
