Over the years, it went growing and, in 2001, a hand games school was created. In 2019, it became the first adapted paddle and hand game school in Biscay. This is the first club in Biscay which provides services for people with intellectual disabilities in a specific Basque pelota section. Food Bank of Biscay In 2022, we worked together with the Food Bank of Biscay. Sidenor was able to discover the premises and the great work performed by volunteers throughout the year. Thanks to the financial input provided, we were able to contribute to the purchase of a new forklift for the warehouse premises located in the municipality of Basauri. For equal opportunities In 2022, Sidenor also worked together with Cáritas on the Lur Bizia project, which aims at developing solutions to specific social problems, such as ensuring economic protection against poverty and decent labor inclusion. The project includes actions considered from different perspectives, which are mainly of two types: Training : linked to the agro-ecological area. Awareness raising : through encounters and exchange of life experiences, knowledge, etc., the project intends to progress towards communities that are more united, more livable and more ecological… With this project, Cáritas intends to train 30 persons (preferably women) in theoretical and practical organic farming, in addition to strengthening their social and labor skills and helping them find a job in this sector. San Prudencio Foundation Through our plant in Vitoria, we work together with the San Prudencio Foundation, a leader in the management and implementation of social responsibility in the companies of Álava. Around 400 companies are associated with this Foundation, which provides services and activities for the benefit of around 30,900 workers who, together with their family, represent around 80,000 people in Álava.
