119 Industrial Engineering of the University of Deusto within the framework of the winning ESSA project on future skills in the steel sector, and the Master in Talent Management of the University of Mondragón, so that they may get a close look at the steel manufacturing processes. During the visits, they were explained how factories and management systems work. We also received the visit of delegates from 20 European town councils (among which the town council of Bilbao, Bilbao Ekintza) interested in knowing about our commitment to Industry 4.0 and digitization. Our plants also welcomed European project meetings such as RE4Industry, COGNITWIN, HyperCOG... Industria Erronka project As a partner company in the Industria Erronka project, Sidenor organized visits at its factory of Basauri, among which high school first year students from the Colegio Santa María de Artagan in Bilbao. These visits aim at bringing industry closer to the young people of Biscay, awaken STEM vocations and raising awareness on the importance of industry as a driver for the economy of Biscay and Euskadi. According to the Federation of Metal Companies of Biscay (FVEM), this type of actions aims at answering one of the main concerns in the sector – the recruitment of young talent, which might significantly condition the future of companies. For this reason, the initiative seeks to show the industry as an attractive destination for professional development and strengthen the incorporation of women.
