117 We support culture ABAO At Sidenor, we support entities that are rooted in the society, such as the Bilbao Association of Friends of the Opera (ABAO), one of the main collectives in the Basque and national cultural sector. Throughout the year, we draw tickets among Sidenor’s employees, so that they may attend its events, as well as the other cultural and sporting activities that we sponsor. Choral Society of Bilbao The Choral Society of Bilbao is a non-profit organization which aims at promoting music in general, and choral music in particular. Sidenor works together with the choral of Bilbao to develop the “Eskolan Kantari” socio- cultural project, at the CEIP Basozelai of Basauri. Commitment to training ROOM4STEEL seminar at the Engineering school of Bilbao As part of our commitment to training, Sidenor has been working together with the Engineering School of Bilbao and Siderex on the Room4Steel business seminar, which is dedicated to steelmaking. This initiative intends to address the problem which characterizes the sector, that is, the lack of specialization of its team staff. The seminar will offer a training itinerary divided into various thematic blocks, including projects which will enable students to carry out their end-of-degree or end-of-master works and do internships in companies. Its main objective is to retain talent, improve their capacities and contribute to introducing students in the labor market. Room4Steel launched its first edition in the academic year 2021/2022 with 14 very different projects developed by the eight partner companies. Sidenor Aceros Especiales contributed to two of them: the “DIGILADLE” project, related to the technique of thermography, and the “GESTINNO” project, for the flexible and automatic Power BI-based management of research projects and proposals. After a very positive first edition of Room4Steel, we launched Room4Steel for the 2022-2023 course.
