111 5 5. Sustainability in the supply chain We are committed to the economic and social development of the regions where we are present. According to the amount invoiced in 2022, 41% of Sidenor suppliers are local, from the provinces where we have our production centers, and 79% are national suppliers. In terms of numbers, 64% of Sidenor suppliers which invoiced in 2022 are local, from the provinces where we have our production centers, and 91% are national suppliers. The difference between national supplier turnover (79%) and number (91%) in 2022 is mainly due to the fact that some raw materials with a high price such as ferroalloys are produced and marketed in foreign countries. From a sustainability and responsibility point of view, we foster the improvement of our suppliers’ environmental, ethical and social profile. For example, Sidenor is a reference and a pioneer in the minimization and use of refractory waste by means of joint projects with suppliers.
