78 Sustainability Report 2021 | People and talent Absenteeism rate Sidenor uses the most prudent version of this concept, considering each absence from work as absenteeism, including absences resulting from occupational or non- occupational accidents, long- term sick leaves or maternity or paternity leaves, except holidays. In 2021, a year which was further impacted by COVID-19 in all our facilities, the absenteeism rate reached 9.8%, with a global computation of 297,387 hours (including 16,279 hours corresponding to paternity and maternity leaves). In 2020, a year which was completely impacted by COVID-19, this figure amounted to 11.2%, with a global computation of 306,598 hours (including 14,072 hours corresponding to paternity and maternity leaves). Sidenor employs nine people who present some form of disability (the same number as in 2020) and, as a demonstration of our commitment to diversified employment, we work together with special employment centres in order to promote social integration policies. In 2019, this commitment was officially recognised, as we were awarded the certificate of compliance with Royal Decree 364/2005 of April 8th. Among these special employment centres are the Fundación Lantegi Batuak, Taller Usoa Lantegia, Soemca Empleo S.L and Alares Social, S.A. Number of dismissals Two dismissals on disciplinary grounds occurred during 2021, while four were registered in 2020.
