16 Sustainability Report 2021 | About us OCTOBER The Basque Hydrogen Corridor BH 2 C association, of which Sidenor is a member, is formally set up. The Basque Hydrogen Corridor aims at creating a hydrogen ecosystem based in Euskadi, in order to advance in the decarbonisation of strategic sectors such as energy, industry, housing and mobility. Grant of the patent for EXTREME PLUS steel for wind fasteners. Sidenor participates in the first edition of the STEEL TECH Congress , an international reference event in the South of Europe, organised by the Bilbao Exhibition Center (BEC) and SIDEREX. The Company is part of the Scientific Committee and delivers lectures related to the product and process areas. Participation in the Master Degree in Strategic Management of People’s Talent of the Mondragon Unibertsitatea. We had challenged the Master students to perform a strategic talent planning. After several months working together, the students present their proposals. NOVEMBER Sidenor receives the 2021 Digitaltek Prize, organised by El Correo, which rewards the best company in the category of BigData. This Prize recognizes the work of entities which have implemented data analysis in their developments, in an innovative manner or with a contribution to the society and company. We renew and extend the promissory note programme in the Alternative Fixed- Income Market (MARF) to 35 million euros. Approval of a new investment plan in the factory of Vitoria, regarding growth in the market for steering elements and electric vehicles. We participate in the 10 th edition of the “Global Innovation Day”, promoted by Innobasque, where Sidenor is selected among over hundred candidates as one of the six successful cases regarding good innovation practices, in this case within the Sustainability category and under the heading “Systematic and Integral Management of Refractory Waste in the Steel Sector, applying the 4R Environmental Model”. Launch of two cooperation projects with the Room4Steel business seminar (DIGILADLE and GESTINNO) , and organisation of a talk on Circular Economy as part of the course established by this business seminar of the Engineering School of Bilbao, which aims at bringing the steel sector closer to university students. DECEMBER Commemoration of the 70 th birthday of the establishment of Forjas Alavesas, currently Sidenor Vitoria.
