14 Sustainability Report 2021 | About us 2021 achievements JANUARY  Sidenor signs a cooperation agreement with the start-up AllRead MLT for the development of an artificial intelligence and machine learning project aiming at developing algorithms which, by means of an image study, enable the identification of parameters and automatic collection of data through any mobile device. FEBRUARY  Approval by the Company Management of Sidenor’s environmental positioning. Communication and dissemination of CO 2 emission reduction objectives for 2025, 2030 and 2050 , as well as waste recovery targets for 2025 and 2030. MARCH  Conclusion of a renewable energy supply agreement with Naturgy, which will provide Sidenor with electrical energy of renewable origin for ten years. It is a further step in Sidenor’s commitment towards the fight against climate change and the decarbonisation of its processes, through the use of green energy in its production facilities.  Sidenor joins the industrial technological platform of the Basque Hydrogen Corridor, whose project includes the development of a technology roadmap aiming at solving some of the existing challenges and will provide Sidenor with technology transfer so that the Company may position itself in this economy of hydrogen.  The European LIFE5REFRACT project , whose objective was the application of the “5R” (reduce-reuse-remanufacture- recycle-re-educate) in the steel sector and refractory market, thus obtaining an integral valorisation of these materials, is successfully achieved. APRIL  Sidenor participates in the collaborative project NOCARBFORGING 2050 , an initiative launched by the Association of German Smiths in October 2020, with the aim of contributing to climate- neutral industrial production in metal shaping by 2050 thanks to innovative forging process technologies. MAY  The Fourth Vice-President of the Government and Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribera, visits Sidenor’s factory at Basauri, in order to see at first hand the technological renewal undertaken by Sidenor, which will put the Company at the forefront of the European special steel sector.  The Assembly of the Association of Energy-intensive Companies (Asamblea de la Asociación de Empresas con Gran Consumo de Energía– AEGE) appoints José Antonio Jainaga, Chairman of Sidenor, as president.  Launch of the SIT2030 Talent programme, whose main objective is to provide its participants with the necessary skills to take on
