91 In favour of research FUNDELA The Spanish Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Research Foundation (Fundación Española para el Fomento de la Investigación de la Esclerosis Lateral Amiotrófica - FUNDELA) was established in December 2002, with the aim to promote ALS research in Spain, financing projects and research conducted by Spanish and international teams. Another objective of the Foundation is to disseminate information about the progress made in the scientific knowledge on the multiple aspects of the disease. FUNDELA also works to make society - both the general population and health workers - aware of this disease. DalecandELA DalecandELA is a non-profit association which aims at collecting funds for ALS research and supporting those who suffer from it. Among its objectives are the following:   To contribute to the visibility of this merciless disease. This disease has no cure yet, mainly due to the lack of financing, as is also the case for other diseases considered “rare”.   To collect funds in different ways and, with the benefits obtained, help foundations/ associations which are currently carrying out valuable research, coordination, training and support work.   To work together with institutions which seek to tackle this disease and with all people who suffer from it.
