72 Corporate Report 2020 | People The frequency rate includes all accidents involving absence from work that have occurred in Sidenor’s installations. The data on accidents at work detailed in the table are not disaggregated by sex. The risk profile is defined according to each work position, as gender is not a relevant topic in terms of occupational safety for the Company, given that, besides, men account for 95% of the productive workforce. Thus, Sidenor does not consider occupational accidents according to gender but to the risk inherent to each position. In 2020, the participatory execution of many projects scheduled for that year was complicated by the impact of COVID-19, as the Prevention department had to dedicate much time to this aspect. Despite this, most projects which had been planned for that year were carried out. Among the strategic projects which had been scheduled for that year, based on the interest and benefit they meant for Sidenor, the following can be highlighted: Accident rates 2020 2019 Accidents 160 174 Frequency rate 35.4 21.4 Severity rate 0.7 0.5 Occupational illnesses 9 12 Metal agreement training. We developed an IT system which enabled us to supervise the necessary training courses for every job position and their follow-up so as to schedule the courses over the year. In spite of the complications caused by COVID-19, we managed to provide many workers with many training hours and fulfil the established requirements, always ensuring the health of all workers. Replacement of the factory access control platform by the minimum document management necessary for contracted workers who work in our facilities. The installation of this new system enables us to update it according to legislative changes which might modify the needs of the various existing crafts, and to know at any time what to require from contractors and workers regarding their access, training and skills in order to work with us. Safety support and monitoring system for the investments performed in 2020, so that the works might be carried out in a safe way, and be completed without any noteworthy accident. Development and start-up of a monitoring system for the stowage of trucks which leave the factory, in order to ensure that the shipments we send to our warehouses, other factories or customers, are loaded in a safe way, are perfectly stable and do not present any risk during road travel.
