68 Corporate Report 2020 | People Professional training At Sidenor, we consider that the training of our professionals is a key tool which enables us to continue growing and developing our business. For this purpose, we need to have more and better qualified professionals, as well as working and management tools aiming at increasing the abilities and skills of our workforce. In this way, we significantly increase the chances of success, both at professional and personal level, of all people who are part of Sidenor. In 2020, we provided 51,037 training hours to over 1,514 employees, that is, 93% of the staff. These training hours were focused on strategic matters such as quality, environment, prevention, integration of new employees and development of people. This measure aims at promoting, attracting and retaining the best talent. As for 2019, we provided 68,941 training hours to over 1,892 employees, that is, 87% of the Group. These training hours were focused on strategic matters such as quality, environment, prevention, integration of new employees and development of people. Each employee benefited from an annual average of 31 training hours in 2020 and 32 training hours in 2019. Responsible autonomy, innovation and performance improvement are among the objectives which, thanks to the training of our teams, will exponentially increase results, year after year, without losing sight of the gender focus, which is enabling the progressive inclusion of women in a sector which is traditionally male. To this end, it is important to identify training needs in order to establish the most appropriate measures in each moment and to successfully face the challenges of the future.
