82 Corporate report 2019 | Society One year more, at Christmas, some of our worksites, such as Vitoria and Reinosa, collected food, clothes and toys for Cáritas and for the food bank of Campoo de Enmedio. In 2019, voluntary people from Sidenor also took part in the “Big food collection” and dedicated some hours of their leisure time to support food collection in the supermarket network which works together with the food bank of Vizcaya. Food for those in need Quality of life for the elderly We support our elderly by collaborating with the Hurkoa association’s Frailty Care programme. This initiative focuses on helping people who live alone, who have no family support, who have health problems or are in situations of dependency and those with certain limitations in organising and managing their own needs and resources by providing them with monitoring and support services, defending their rights and interests and taking their values and desires into account. San Prudencio Foundation Through our plant in Vitoria, we work together with the San Prudencio Foundation, a leader in the management and implementation of social responsibility in the companies of Álava. Over 400 companies are associated with this Foundation which organises activities for the benefit of around 80,000 people. In favour of research and science One year more, we collaborated with the WOP (Walk On Project) Foundation, which works at funding research projects searching for therapies for neurodegenerative diseases and at spreading awareness among society for the need for research and science.
