68 Corporate report 2019 | Society At Sidenor, we are strongly committed to the economic and social development of the regions in which we are present. Our contribution to aspects such as job creation and cooperation with local suppliers involves a significant support to the regions in which we are located and turns our Company into an important ally for all of them. The strength of our Company is not only reflected in economic data. We are part of the society and have therefore always given importance to the cooperation with social entities and fostered initiatives which promote training, environmental care and sports and benefit the least-favoured sectors. In order to carry out this social work, we develop a continuous dialogue with the communities in which we are present, which helps us understand their needs. The yearly visits we organise for customers, suppliers, training centres and institutions to our worksites (306 visitors in 2019 and over 100 in 2018), the communication meetings or the activities planned to create synergies and encourage cooperation are just a few examples of this. In addition, we carry out various sponsorship actions to support the work of sports, cultural or educational associations and entities which are attached to values such as training, solidarity and team work – principles to which we are firmly committed within our corporate social responsibility policies.
