Sidenor Corporate Report 2019

58 Corporate report 2019 | People Continuous training We need to consider training at the workplace as a powerful tool to improve safety and quality standards as well as the performance of the people who are part of Sidenor. In order to contribute to this, we have various tools which help us detect training needs in the different teams. Among these tools are the qualification matrices, by means of which the departments and support areas of Sidenor, together with the Human Resources department, reflect the training needs of each work position; the technical and development requirements obtained will enable a clear, easy and personalised definition of the specific profiles of each function. As part of Sidenor’s training project, one working team is specifically dedicated to updating, improving and adapting these qualification matrices, so that, with the help of other available tools, we might define the real needs of each work position. Versatility Versatility remains one of the main objectives of the training project. In order to have a clear view of the real situation and thus be able to act in the most appropriate way in order to develop this versatility, we implemented, in all production departments, the ILUO matrix: a system designed to know and develop the technical and personal skills of the teams. The ultimate objective of this matrix is to reach operational excellence through the development of the organisation’s labour force. Given the fact that the information sources are the departments, the information obtained by the ILUO system gives us a real and accurate view of the situation of versatility within the various departments. By means of periodic reviews, we can thus search for training solutions in the areas where the matrix has detected needs that we should cover. In order to properly define the ILUO matrix, Human Resources and the other departments dedicated a period to analysis and reflexion, as the system could not have been implemented without this exhaustive study. Digital communication It is essential to align training with a digital communication environment in order to efficiently share information and keep it updated at all times, thus facilitating the interaction between the various Company departments. To this end, it is necessary to promote improvement environments which generate new analysis tools, digital communication platforms as well as mobile applications which contribute to an easy, fast and efficient transmission of information We have tools which help us detect the teams’ training needs
