of diversifying production and accessing renewable energy markets and sectors such as railway or oil&gas: two new round bloom formats, one of 410 millimetres and one of 525 millimetres in diameter. The Company intends to manufacture 20,000 tonnes of this new product for direct sale in 2020. Participation in the Day of Industry. At Sidenor, we are committed to the sector’s future and, for this reason, we are among the companies which participate in the Day of Industry, thus getting closer to industrial reality and the professionals of the future. Altogether 22 students attended a presentation by Sidenor and were able to familiarise themselves with the daily tasks of various professionals at Sidenor. For the first time, Sidenor registers a promissory note programme as a form of alternative funding . As a new way of obtaining more funding, Sidenor has registered a promissory note programme with the bond market of BME-MARF- for an amount of 25 million euros. December The first trials within the COCOP project are performed at Sidenor premises. The project, supported by the European Commission within the framework of the Horizon 2020 programme, aims at facilitating the monitoring of production facilities by means of a supervision and control system serving as a guide for workers at the premises; it has already reached the implementation phase of the process optimisation models in secondary metallurgy and continuous casting. Completion of the internal communication campaign on Cybersecurity with a presentation to which we invited internal and external experts in this field, who shared their experience and informed the staff about the preventive actions they can carry out, as users, in an environment in which a better connectivity goes along with greater risks. AWARDS AND ACKNOWLEDGMENTS Sidenor is awarded for its contribution to innovation in the Basque industrial structure. As a result of its strong commitment to innovation, Sidenor has been rewarded at the 5th edition of the Vodafone Deia Innovation Sariak, in the category of Steelmaking Reference. Business Innovation prize for the application and continuous development of management tools, awarded by the Foundation Empresa Vasca y Sociedad and Kutxabank. 13
