12 2019 ACHIEVEMENTS January Sidenor continues its digital transformation towards SMARTFACTORY , with the complete traceability of its bars. As part of the Company’s digital strategy towards SMARTFACTORY, we have designed the “digital twin”: a virtual model of the entire process, based on the data and information obtained from the various sensors and information systems of the Company. February Sidenor starts a joint project with Immersia Data Visualization within the framework of BIND 4.0. This project, led by Sidenor and the start-up, consists in the design and implementation of a multi-device platform enabling the monitoring of Basauri plant’s rolling mill. In other words, the project aims at creating a digital twin of the mill, with real-time information and multi-device navigation. April Circular economy: Sidenor remains very committed to following its strategy of pursuing excellence in refractory waste management. The “5RefrAct” project, supported within the framework of the European Union LIFE programme, has already been launched. A good objective, a good approach and the best example ever of team work in a consortium. June Innovation: Sidenor organizes the 1st Day of Innovation in Basauri plant, with the objective of discussing, together with the customers, the possibilities offered by innovation as a lever for the creation of value in the iron and steel industry. Sidenor is a leader in providing innovative product solutions as well as in digital transformation in the steel sector. July Financing: The EIB supports Sidenor’s innovation strategy by means of 50 million euros under the Investment Plan for Europe. The investment will enable the Company to develop innovative products and strengthen its competitiveness. Sidenor will be able to produce longer- lasting steels and reduce energy consumption, thus achieving, thanks to this investment, a direct benefit for the climate. September Sidenor celebrates the first Transport Day on the occasion of the new law on stowage. This event, which has been specifically designed for the Company’s supplying transporters, is a further demonstration of Sidenor’s commitment to the safety of all people who access the production facilities. October Innovation – a value of Sidenor. Sidenor gathers the Company Management at an event in which the central topic is innovation as a value and as an inherent attitude when dealing with daily tasks in all areas of Sidenor. Sidenor concludes the sale of 75.1% of the company Sidenor Forgings & Castings to the German-American consortium NFL. November Launch of the round bloom .
